What is uPVC?

uPVC stands for unplasticized Poly Vinyl Chloride and is a low maintenance building material. As window frames, uPVC has superior insulation properties for energy efficiency and noise reduction. They are also strong because they are reinforced with galvanized steel.

Double Glazing

Art Windows specialize in double glazing. This is essentially two panels of glass with a gap in the middle filled with Argon Gas (a non-toxic gas) which serves as an insulation for both heat and sound.

Low E Glass and Energy Ratings

Low E stands for low emissivity, which is the amount of heat that radiates through a surface. Glass coated in a soft coat low e help to allow natural light to pass through, while deflecting UV rays and Infared light. What is U Value and SHGC? These are values that help to determine what energy rating your house will meet.

The Aluplast Window Grey matched perfectly and the client was very happy that they could upgrade their old rotting timber windows for a maintenance free alternative.

This massive house was getting a full renovation and wanted to improve their energy efficiency. So why waste money putting in new insulation, but keeping poorly rated aluminium or timber single glazed windows? It was a no-brainer to also update their windows and doors to a more energy efficient uPVC double glazed option. Over 24 windows and doors, took our installation team 3 days to complete.
